【タイトル】Jelly Roll Morton-Blackbottom Stomp 1926 【掲載元】http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8k0g7_jell… 【ファイルサイズ】0 【説明】In the mid 1920s, Victor was getting into "race" records and was looking for talent. Morton assembled a group who could play the "hot Style" jazz from Lil Armstrong Hardins disbanded Dreamland Syncopaters. These 1926-27 tracts are considered the first hot syle jazz made and music historian David McGee states that these recordings are to jazz what Elvis Presleys Sun Recordings are to rock & roll. 【タイトル】Jim Hession /Shreveport Somp /Jelly Roll Mor… 【掲載元】http://www.youtube.com/?v=xt-GEO_dbWA 【ファイルサイズ】0 【説明】http://www.artistopia.com/hessionsession Certainly one of the most challenging of the Jelly Roll Morton repetoire is Shreveport Stomp. This was written for piano, but possibly the most famous rendition was by Morton(piano) with Omer Simeon(clarinet). Jim first played this piano solo at 15 years old for a citywide youth talent contest at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. Unfortunately he came in second to a singer in a white dinner jacket crooning "I Left My Heart In San Franciso". This was recorded live at Word of Mouth Recording Studio in Algiers(New Orleans) on December 18, 2007. |
